1. Product Overview
FBM216 is a core HART analog input fieldbus module of Foxboro I/A Series DCS, specially designed for high-reliability process control occasions requiring HART intelligent instrument access and redundant signal acquisition. It is equipped with 8 group-isolated 4–20mA input channels, supporting mixed wiring of ordinary current transmitters and HART smart transmitters, realizing simultaneous analog value collection and HART digital two-way communication.
Each channel integrates independent FSK HART modem, the system can read instrument diagnostic information, process parameters, device status and fault alarms at 2 digital messages per second without additional HART multiplexer. Adopts 15-bit sigma-delta ADC conversion technology, full-scale measurement accuracy up to ±0.075%, ultra-low temperature drift 50PPM/℃, meeting high-precision flow, pressure, temperature measurement requirements of petrochemical and power plants.
Supports FBM-level redundant configuration: two FBM216 modules share one TA terminal base, one runs as master for normal signal collection, the other acts as tracker hot standby; once the main module fails, seamless switching without signal loss, eliminating single-point failure risk of important measuring loops. Compatible with both internal loop power supply and external 24VDC transmitter power supply modes, matching two-wire HART transmitters of all mainstream brands.
Group isolation design completely separates field high-voltage interference and DCS logic circuit, multi-stage TVS surge protection avoids module burnout caused by field miswiring short circuit. Conforms to ISA S71.04 G3 harsh environment standard, resistant to dust, humidity, chemical corrosive gas and industrial vibration. Installed on standard DIN rail baseplate, matched with dedicated TA terminal assembly for centralized field wiring, convenient for cabinet marshalling and maintenance.
